There is something about an in-home maternity session with a busy toddler that I just can’t get enough of. I’m sure you know that when you have a busy toddler in the mix, comfort is key. So, we decided to keep things cozy and intimate right at their own home. The little guy was in his element, zipping around on his bike and taking breaks when he needed them. It was all about creating a space where he could be himself, and let me tell you, the photos turned out precious.
Adding a second child to the family is a big deal. There’s a mix of excitement and anticipation, but also a bittersweet feeling of wondering how you’ll juggle it all and how you’ll make enough room in your heart to love a new baby as much as the one you already have. That’s why it was extra special to capture some sweet moments between mom and her son before the new baby brother arrives.
As we captured moments, it was clear that this family was overflowing with love. The laughter, the hugs, the little moments shared – they all spoke volumes. And even in the midst of the unknowns, there was this undeniable sense of joy and anticipation.
For me, as a Virginia Beach photographer, it’s about a lot more than just taking pictures. It’s about telling a story, capturing the emotions, and freezing time in all its raw beauty. Because one day, when these kids are all grown up, these photos will serve as a reminder of the love that surrounded them from the very beginning.
