This laid-back family session was taken in Chesapeake, Virginia. It was a really easy and laid-back shoot with this sweet family. Even though the sun didn’t come out, we didn’t let that stop us from having fun and getting some great photos.
Before every session, I always ask my clients what they want to remember when they look back on these photos in 20 years. When I asked this mom, she said she wanted to remember just how small and sweet the girls are. So we set out to capture those very things.
Every photo session I do is about capturing your family as it is right now. As you look back on these photos in ten, twenty, or thirty years, I want you to remember exactly what this season of life was like. When you tell me what you hope to remember, it helps me focus on documenting the parts of your family that are the most important and special to you.
One of the reasons I don’t really choose to do overly posed sessions is because I want you to have something authentic for your family. Your photos should document the personalities of each person and the bonds you share with each other. Capturing the bonds that mothers share with their children is one of my greatest joys and biggest goals in my photography. As a Virginia Beach photographer, every photo shoot is a sacred endeavor to document the love, joy, and intimate moments that define a family.
